A food-grade flexible connector designed for hygiene
Powder conveying, drying, baking, ventilation of production areas: each food application has its own constraints. MECAVENT SA selects the appropriate material, assembly method, and connection, taking into account:
- the product in contact: process air, vapors, powders, dry products;
- temperature, pressure, or vacuum level;
- the site’s cleaning and disinfection procedures;
- any ATEX classification of the area;
- the documentation requirements of your quality department.
Materials compliant for food contact
- White silicone-coated glass fabric: from -40°C to +200°C, for hot air, dryers, ovens, and vapor extraction;
- Food-grade polyurethane film: for transferring powders and dry products (flour, sugar, milk powder, coffee, cereals);
- Food-grade polyester fabric: for ventilation and air treatment in production areas.
The materials comply with Regulation EC 1935/2004 and, depending on their nature, with Recommendation BfR XV (silicones), Regulation EU 10/2011 (plastics), and FDA 21 CFR 177.2600.
An assembly designed for hygiene
Stitching can trap particles and make cleaning more difficult. For sensitive areas, we favor high-frequency welding: a continuous surface that is easier to clean, and improved sealing. Smooth surfaces and the white color make visual cleanliness checks easier.
Connection via flanges, stainless-steel clamps, or connection sleeves with turned-down edges for powder transfer lines.

Each supply is accompanied by the documents required by quality departments:
- food-contact declaration of compliance;
- migration test reports;
- batch traceability;
- on request: ATEX certificates, declarations of absence of allergens and animal-derived derivatives.
